The Tundra biome is the coldest of all the biomes. The word tundra comes from the finnish word tunturia, which means treeless plains. It is known for its frost-molded landscapes, low temperature, not much percipitation, poor nutrients, and a short growing season. There are two types of tundra: arctic tundra, and alpine tundra.
