Annual Precipitation is around 30 centimeters (11.81 inches) per year. There is not much precipitation for an entire year, most of the precipitation of the Alpine Tundra comes in the form of snow. Overall, the Alpine Tundra is one of the driest biomes.
Average Annual Temperature is around –4 to 0oC (24.8oF-32oF). The Alpine Tundra's winter temperatures can go much colder. Altitude heavily affects temperature as well, which is the main reason why the temperatures of the alpine are so cold (as altitude increases, temperature decreases). Summer temperatures range from 40oF to 60oF, while the cold winter months go under the freezing mark. The temperatures also fluctuate, and can change from freezing to warm in less than a day.
